Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Vientiane – City Exploration

Welcome to Vientiane, the relaxed capital of Laos and its largest city, home to nearly one million
residents. Upon arrival at Vientiane Airport, complete immigration formalities and meet your
guide for transfer to your hotel.

After lunch at a local restaurant, begin a guided city tour of the capital’s most important cultural
landmarks. Visit Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, known for its thousands
of miniature Buddha statues. Continue to Wat Simuang, a highly revered temple among locals,
followed by Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha.

Proceed to the iconic That Luang Stupa, the most sacred monument in Laos, and continue to
the impressive Patuxay Monument, often called the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane,” built after
the Indochina wars.

Evening at leisure before dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

Vientiane – Buddha Park – Textile Village

After breakfast, depart for an excursion outside the city to explore cultural highlights around
Vientiane.

Visit Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan), located about 30 km away near the Mekong River and the
Lao–Thai Friendship Bridge. This fascinating sculpture park features over 200 Buddhist and
Hindu statues created by a mystical monk, reflecting spiritual stories and mythology. En route,
stop at the Friendship Bridge for photos overlooking the Mekong River.

Continue to Nong Buathong Textile Village, where you will learn about traditional weaving
techniques and local handicraft production.

Return to Vientiane for lunch and dinner at local restaurants.

Day 3

Vientiane – Vang Vieng

After breakfast, depart for Vang Vieng, a scenic town surrounded by Limestone Mountains and
caves, approximately 1 hour from Vientiane.

Once used as a military airfield during the Indochina period, the town is now famous for its
dramatic natural landscapes and outdoor activities. Visit the Blue Lagoon (Phou Kham Cave),
a popular natural swimming area surrounded by jungle scenery.

Enjoy a boat ride along the Nam Song River, taking in the peaceful views of Karst Mountains
and rural life.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

Dinner at your hotel.

Day 4

Vang Vieng – Phonsavan – Plain of Jars

After breakfast, check out and visit Tham Chang Cave, featuring crystal-clear streams and
scenic views.

Continue a long scenic drive (6–7 hours) to Phonsavan, passing through mountain landscapes
and panoramic viewpoints along the way.

Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and visit the Plain of Jars, an extraordinary archaeological
site featuring hundreds of ancient stone jars scattered across the plateau.

Continue to the old capital of Muang Khun and nearby ethnic minority villages to explore local
culture and traditions.

Dinner and overnight in Phonsavan.

Day 5

Phonsavan – Luang Prabang

After breakfast, depart for Luang Prabang, a journey of approximately 6–7 hours through
beautiful mountain scenery and ethnic villages along the road.

Stop along the way to observe local communities and enjoy the natural landscapes of northern
Laos.

Arrive in Luang Prabang and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free at leisure.

Day 6

Luang Prabang City Tour

After breakfast, explore the cultural treasures of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage
city.

Visit Wat Visoun, home to the impressive That Makmo Stupa, followed by Wat Mai, known
for its elegant wooden architecture. Continue to the iconic Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most
beautiful temples in Laos, featuring intricate mosaics and traditional Lao design.

Climb Phousi Hill for panoramic views over the city, Mekong River, and surrounding
mountains.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7

Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves Cruise

After breakfast, visit the former Royal Palace Museum, showcasing royal artifacts, musical
instruments, and historical collections.

Begin a scenic boat cruise along the Mekong River to the sacred Pak Ou Caves, home to
thousands of Buddha statues placed by pilgrims over centuries.

Lunch is served on board.

On the return, visit Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xang Hai, known for traditional handicrafts,
weaving, and rice whisky production.

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8

Kuang Si Waterfall Experience

After breakfast, travel to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall, famous for its multi-tiered turquoise
pools and jungle surroundings.

Enjoy time to swim, relax, and explore the natural surroundings, including viewpoints along the
upper trails.

Picnic lunch near the waterfall.

On the return, stop at the Buffalo Dairy Farm for a light refreshment or ice cream.

Day 9

Elephant Experience – Textile & Village Visit

After breakfast, travel to an ethical elephant camp at Ban Noon Elephant Village. En route, visit
weaving villages such as Ban Phanom, known for traditional textile production and handicrafts
once supplied to the royal court.

Continue to the elephant camp, where you will learn about elephant care and conservation
efforts. Meet the elephants and enjoy a nature-based experience in a forested environment.

Return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.

Departure from Luang Prabang
